Only 200 of these cars were built - and 50 of those were dissembled for spare parts. It was built to be a “no compromises” rally car, employing a number of advanced design concepts including driver selectable two or four wheel drive and extensive use of high tech chassis and body panels. The “normal” street version uses an 1800cc, all aluminum, 16 valve, turbocharged, inter-cooled (across the roof) four-cylinder unit which puts out 250bhp - accelerating the car to 60mph in 4.5 seconds. The BDT-E “evolution” motor, displacing 2137cc, produces up to 700bhp and 535 ft of torque resulting in a sub 3 second 0-60 time - on gravel!
